So you want to become an online entrepreneur but don’t know where to start? Well you’ve come to the right place! Owning your own business and operating it from the comfort of your home, hotel room, or even in your car is very liberating.

You control when, where and how your business is operated and best of all, you are your own boss! You call the shots, make all the decisions, and have the final say so. Whoa. That may sound overwhelming, and it is at first. But stay calm, it is all well worth it and once you’ve adjusted to the learning curve it’ll be smooth sailing.

So how does one become an online entrepreneur? All you’ve got to do is make up your mind! Decide that this is the life path that you are choosing to pursue and get after it. But that may be easier said than done. So keep on reading to get your new career started.

1. Identify your passion

If you haven’t realized by now, I’m all about helping entrepreneurs turn their passion into dollars. Maybe you already know what your passion is. If so, skip along to the next point.

But for those who don’t know their passion, you may be asking how does one go about doing this?
I know it may seem daunting because it definitely was for me. Before starting my own business, I had no idea what I wanted to do. So what did I do?

I overlooked my life and identified what made me happy and brought me joy to do. What would you do, happily, every day of your life if you weren’t paid for it? What ever the answer is, that is your passion.

For myself, I realized that my passion was helping others in any area that I had a deep interest for. I found that when I helped in these areas it brought me great joy! I would do all these extra things- researching information, filling out forms, etc- for free! This is was my passion and I could do this for hours on end. Add to this that I could do this as an online entrepreneur; I was all in!

2. Identify your expertise

So you have your passion but sometimes, like my passion, it can be applied to many different areas. My passion is so general that I had to narrow down what it was that I wanted to help others in.

Knowing your expertise helps you to identify as a master of one instead of a jack of all trades. I found that with my business background, I am super passionate about helping entrepreneurs build their brand and make money online. I’ve been afford the opportunity to work from the comfort of anywhere and I want to help others achieve this as well.

So for you, your expertise may be knitting, or cooking, or even home decor. When you have zeroed in on your expertise, this will help you establish who you are and what you’rein business for.

3. Identify your target market

So we’ve got your passion and expertise established, now it’s time to identify your customer. This step is very important because if you have a business but you don’t know who your customer is, then how will you make money?!

Figure out who you want your customer to be and what they’ll be interested it. When you’ve identified this, you’re ready to get started.

4. Get started

You’ve made it! Now it is time to hit the ground running. You still have a few things to do before getting your first sale but you’re more than half way there and that’s exciting.

You’ll need to create a business name, get a website started, and create your brand.
